
5 simple things to do to change the way you feel
All human beings only want two things in their life’s, one is to avoid conflict and the other is to simply be happy, that is happy with the world around them and happy with themselves, so how do we achieve this? Is there a magic formula that enables us to feel happy or do we constantly stumble along in life searching for Nirvana?
Well what we do know, and this is from years of running a private practice where people come every day in search of congruency in their life, is that the smallest change can make the biggest difference, it is just a case of committing to change and not wanting to wake up tomorrow feeling how you felt yesterday and to take conscious control of your life.
So try these 5 things, if you want to change just give it a whirl and experience for yourself a lifting of pressure and just smile…
1. Choose to be happy
I know it sounds daft but we get what we look for in life, so say to yourself or out loud… ‘I will be happy today!’… Set your mood for the day. Be in control of you own mind.
2. Have a Banana and avoid wheat
You are a chemistry set, some foods make you happy by assisting in the production of the feel good chemicals in our brains such as bananas and some foods can make you feel sluggish, depressed, heavy, unmotivated and irritable, wheat for example!
3. Do something that you have been putting off
The things that cause the greatest amount of stress are the things we simply avoid doing…. Choose one thing to do today and do it… now this could be as simple as clearing out a drawer in the kitchen or it could be talking to someone that you haven’t spoken to in a long time.
4. Move more
It is proven that if you move more, go for a walk, dance around the lounge or just get up and walk around the garden or park you will feel better, take nice deep breaths and when you exhale let all the stresses of life come out.
5. Be nice to other people
Go over the top niceness day, when we help others or do things that make people smile we get a release of the happy drug ourselves and be fully present- the past was the past… LET IT STAY THERE… be aware that you only have one reality in life and that is now, now is real and it’s what you do now that sets your mood…
Life is so complex and so many people drown in all their problems and issues not knowing where to start. Apply focus to your life, everyone can do one thing, all you have to do is choose the one thing to do which can make the most difference. Make change simple, you get what you focus on.
